511 Q:   How long does it normally take a male to cum when masterbating? Also, how long is it supposed to take male to cum when having intercourse with a female?
A: I can not dictate exact numbers when it comes to length of time is "should" take. However, the average time it takes a man to ejaculate during masturbation is about five minutes. Unfortunately, for the woman, this can be disappointing during sex because it typically takes a woman 10-15 minutes (or more) to achieve an orgasm. This puts the male and female couple in a position of compromise during the practice of sexual activities. (Yes! Good sex does require practice and experimentation on behalf of both partners.) The couple can engage in sexual foreplay that will enable the female to achieve orgasm faster, and the male can engage in concentration techniques during sex such as stop-and-go techniques during sex and his own masturbation sessions to practice lengthening the period of time before he orgasms. Compromise, communication, experimentation, and practice are all important virtues when it comes to sex that satisfies both the male and female partner.

512 Q:   I'm 16, but I have a problem. It seems every time a guy gets out of his seat in school, I feel like I freeze up because people might think I'm looking at his butt. A guy could be sitting in front of me or walking down the isle in the class. I just don't know what to do when this happens. I try to look forward and continue to do my schoolwork, but it seems someone is always staring at me like I'm gay because could happen to see the guys' butts when they get up.
A: Your question is a bit vague. I'm not sure if you are saying you have a desire or curiosity of looking at a guy's butt. Nevertheless, it seems you are somewhat paranoid in that you feel all eyes are on you when a guy gets up in class. It is true that one or two people may be looking in your direction, but there is no real way people can tell for sure if you are looking at the guy's butt, or his shirt, or his pants, or his belt, etc. They also can't tell what you are thinking if you do look at him. I might suggest that if you are distracted by guys getting up, and you happen to look at them, maybe you could direct your eyes toward the back of his hair or else down at his shoes rather than his mid-section (butt).

513 Q:   I am 13 years old and I'm pretty sure that I'm strait, because I am easily aroused by women. I have entered puberty early, and I'm at the sexual stage an adult would be in. I have this really close male friend that I fantasize about making out with and giving oral sex to. He's not a very attractive man, but he's the only one I'm attracted to. Should I act on these feelings and experiment with him?
A: I don't think you should act on these feelings at this time. The fact that you are asking about it proves that you have some internal doubt about actually putting yourself in a sexual position with your friend. Many males have the types of thoughts or fantasies you described. Many men also choose not to act on these thoughts because they aren't really comfortable with the idea of doing it in real life. Don't rush into anything. You have the rest of your life to make sexual decisions.

514 Q:   I read about the stop-and-go method for masturbation. Does this mean that you stop in the middle of actual intercourse as well as masturbation if it's necessary to keep you from ejaculating too soon? I've also noticed that sometimes changing positions during sex can prolong the experience because different positions feel different, or even the man may need to pull out temporarily to reposition.
A: Yes, you are correct in those statements. However, stopping in the middle of sexual intercourse will require an understanding on behalf of your partner. Adequate and honest communication with your partner prior to sex will be necessary.

515 Q:   In the last month, maybe one of 4 or 5 of my sessions has been interrupted by excruciating head-aches. At first, they would start while I was masturbating, but now it's usually after I ejaculate. They were so severe I would find myself having to stop and cry out in pain. They usually center themselves on the back of my upper neck and the center to bottom of the back of my head. I don't know if it makes a difference, But I started anal stimulation at the same time. I'm pretty sure this isn't normal, and I'm extremely concerned.
A: You may be experiencing migraine headaches that are stimulated from the excitation of your central nervous system from the sexual arousal. If this is the case, you can ask a doctor about medications for your painful headaches. But I must also suggest that you keep track of the position you are in when you are masturbating. Try changing the position(s) to relieve tension on the back and neck muscles. For example, if you do it laying down, try sitting up. But if you do it sitting up now, try laying down. Sometimes the muscle strain from the position of sexual activity can cause all sorts of aches and pains. Anal stimulation is probably not the cause of the increase in your symptoms in and of itself. However, to engage in anal stimulation, you must stretch the shoulder muscles to reach behind yourself. These muscles can cause the back and neck to tense up abnormally. I'm not sure how long it takes you to masturbate, but if you are spending hours doing it each day, it can be causing these problems. If the pain continues after trying these suggestions, you may have to see a doctor about the problem. Doctors know guys masturbate, so there is nothing to be ashamed of if you feel you must reveal these details to a physician.

516 Q:   I have not been to the doctor yet, but I met a girl recently that fancies me. I have not started puberty at all yet, even though I am 15. I had to turn her down because she wanted more than a hug and a kiss. I'm afraid that if I went out with her and we did get physically intimate, she would dump me and tell all our friends about us. What sort of treatments can a doctor give me to help me start to grow down there?
A: What a doctor can do for you all depends on your test results. 15 is a borderline age for developmental concern. Technically, it would be within normal range if you started puberty soon. On the other hand, if you do not see growth within the next year (or by age 16), you should start thinking about seeing a doctor. But honestly, there really is no urgent physiological hurry, even though it seems like it because you started dating girls. Just keep in mind that there are treatments available for those young men who legitimately have a developmental problem. You won't have this problem forever. Hormone treatments such as pills or stick-on patches are often a common treatment for low testosterone levels, but I have no idea if low testosterone is your actual problem. This is only a website. Sorry I can't help more.

517 Q:   I am a 22 year old college student, and I recently went to a wild fraternity party. There was one hot girl who was really drunk on a bed. My buddy stripped off and started to have sex with her. As I watched, I started getting really aroused, so I lay down and let her suck my penis while my buddy had sex with her in the doggie-style position. Before long, he ejaculated, so I took his place and had sex with her in the missionary position. The whole fraternity cheered me on, and by this time I was so aroused nothing could stop me. Finally, I ejaculated and my orgasm was so great I groaned out loud. Is it often that guys get more turned on when other guys see them having sex with a hot girl?
A: I don't know. To be honest with you, the idea of it does not turn me on. It sounds like you may have been having sex in the wrong place and for the wrong reasons.

518 Q:   I am 23, and I my girlfriend loves it when I ejaculate in her mouth (believe me, so do I) she even swallows all my sperm. When I'm alone and masturbating I have the urge to eat my own sperm? Is this common? Have you ever tasted yours, and what does it taste like? My girlfriend says mine tastes good.
A: Most guys  who masturbate regularly have tasted their own semen at some point. Some do it regularly. It is safe to eat your own semen. Probably more people do it than actually admit to doing it. I've tasted mine, and I did not like the fact that it was warm. Semen usually tastes salty like ocean water.

519 Q:   Last night, I had sex with a hot girl in my bunk. We started off with me getting fellatio, then she rode me for a while. Then, I got on top and thrusted hard until I had a powerful orgasm. She said I must have ejaculated a gallon of semen. But she noticed that my toes twitched and curled, although I don't remember this obviously, so it must have been involuntarily. Is it normal for guys to twitch their toes when they have an orgasm?
A: It's normal to have all sorts of involuntary reactions from orgasms. The legs and toes can do any number of strange things. Sometimes you can even get a cramp in the leg ("charlie horse") from an orgasm.
