I believe it all is predetermined I know my sexual preference has and will always be known to me. But I also know that my little idiosyncrisies (fetishes)have always been there as well. I know some people can't understand why certain people do things. For example homosexuals and transvestites. If you were to speak to either one they would most likely tell you that they were born a certain way or they feel compelled or drawn to act a certain way. For the people that say they were confused or didn't know what there sexual identity was growing up when they finally find their preference it is as though they feel that they all of the sudden belong or finally feel comfortable for the first time. Some people can't understand that and I know why they don't understand. They are for lack of a better word "wired" different and can't possibly understand because that isn't how they are and they feel as though they are the norm.

I believe that sexual preference is determined by early childhood memories, and also preprogrammed. For example, why do people like other things, such as their preference of car or candy. I have experimented with both, and I still often fantasize about other guys. I think the qualities which you are attracted to in girls are what also causes it. I fantasize about guys who are similar to the girls I like. I also never had any curiousity about doing things with guys until I met my first bi-sexual male friend. I believe that sexual preference has to be triggered by something in order to have any effect, and the reason that many people are straight from birth is because that is what is most common in society.

I think the basic nature of humans is to be bisexual, not exclusively gay or straight. Studies of chimps show this, and we know that homosexual encounters were almost universal among ancient Europeans, in particular the Celts and Greeks. Primarally you are born with a sexual disposition. However, experience may alter that pre-dispoaition. As with all personality traits, there is a lot of variation within individals. Some are extremely heterosexual while others may be only midly so. Some individuals may be mostly heterosexual and a little bit homosexual or bi-sexual.Others may be dominately homosexual and a little bit heteosexual. The fact is, there is a lot of variation. No two people are exactly alike in sexual orientation or in any other personality trait. What influences one person to develop a particular personality may not have the same effect on another person. A person may be able to alter their dominant personality, but only if they consciously desire to do so.

Can a mature man change his sexual preference? I know a very inteligent well educated successful man who did this. While I had no first hand sexual contact with him, it was an accepted fact that he was homosexual from his early teens until he concluded to change which he did in his early forties. He married and had five children. In that his wife was a lomg time friend, she knew perfectly well his sexual history. She had been previously married, but had no children from that marriage.

I suspect sexual preference is part biology, part environment. For me, I seem to have always been heterosexual, without adversion to others being bisexual or homosexual.

Sexual preference is caused by both biological / genetic influences as well as behavioral influences. Many gay nen had a choice whether to embrace the gay lifestyle, and I believe their behavioral history gave them the final information they needed to address any lingering uncertainties. Male and female sexuality is very simple. Males have sex with females to increase the population, to continue the species. It is the normal biological functioning of the species. However, when behavioral influences and genetic reversals occur, the attitudes and sexual drives are likewise effected in an abnormal way. Therefore, it is abnormal to be gay, lesbian, etc. I think that is quite simply an obvious given. As to how much emphasis is given to the rights and responsibilities of sexually variants, I believe that everyone needs to be accepted as they are, as long as their specific orientation does not effect the quality of your own personal life. We do not need gay rights, we need gay inquiry via the medical community (psychologically and genetically).

I personally believe that being a sexuality is through psychological choice, many poeple accept at an early age that this is the norm. Yjrough my own findings 80% of men will, have, or want to try it with the same sex. People love one another, not what they have between their legs. Just cos you find a guy attractive does not mean your gay, and if I was to find a woman attractive, which I do does not make me straight. Sexually speaking there is no pleasure that I recive as a gay man that a straight man would also be tuned on. The only real differnce between straights and gays physically, is that sex with a woman u can have kids. To all you straight guys out thier, try it before you knock it. enjoy
